Mesotherapy and Lipodissolve

Mesotherapy and Lipodissolve are two medical procedures that involve injecting a medication under the skin for various reasons. The technique originated in France, with Dr. Pistor and has since enjoyed a worldwide boom in its applications.
Mesotherapy is used to treat:
- Cellulite
- Localized fat deposits
- Aging
- Scars
- Sports injuries
- Imperfections after lipo-surgery
- Many other medical problems.
The technique injects many traditional and homeopathic medications, vitamins, minerals and others into the mesoderm. Several needles, different in shapes and sizes, are used for modes of delivery. The target areas that are treated with mesotherapy include, but not limited to:
- Face (mesolift, mesoglow)
- Scars, anywhere
- Thighs
- Abdomen
- Back
- Neck
- Others
There is no downtime with mesotherapy or Lipodissolve. Patients usually resume their normal activities immediately after treatment. Most problematic areas can be treated within 3 to 5 sessions. Sessions are done usually 3 to 6 weeks apart. In some cases, sessions are done on a weekly basis.
How does Mesotherapy work in weight loss and body sculpting?
The medications that are injected under the skin work to melt the fat. There are different ways to melt the fat. Our medications usually destroy the fat cell membrane and the destroyed cells, along with its fat contents, are handled by our immune system. They are carried into the body where they are either recycled in the liver or released through our kidneys or bowels.
How does Mesotherapy benefit Cellulite?
Cellulite is a medical condition that usually affects women more than men. Cellulite is linked to an unorganized skin, skin fat and fibers under the skin. The fibers can sometimes harden, push the fat cells and cause dimpling of the skin. Being overweight does affect this condition, as does stress and hormones. The medications used in Mesotherapy injections melt away the fat and release the connective tissue bands. The resulting effect is a smoothing of the skin and removing of the dimpled appearance.
How does Mesotherapy help in anti-aging and skin rejuvenation?
The injections under the skin rejuvenate the cells. The cells become more active which then stimulates the production of collagen and elastin. Both of these products are needed for halting and reversing the aging process. Anti-aging treatments can begin in the mid twenties to prevent wrinkles from forming. Treatments for the face, neck, arms and hands are recommended several times each year.
Do I qualify for Mesotherapy treatments?
If you are a healthy adult between the ages of 18 to 75, then you do qualify.
Who is not a candidate for Mesotherapy?
If you have any of the following conditions, then you may not be candidates for Mesotherapy:
- Pregnancy
- Unrealistic expectations
- On blood thinners
- Uncontrolled diabetics
- Chronis and severe heart problems
- A history of a stroke or blood clots
- Taking medication for heart arrhythmias
- Chronic and severe medical conditions
- Cancer
- If you have allergies to any of the products used
Why not cosmetic surgery?
Mesotherapy is not for everyone. Some patients need cosmetic surgery. Upon your initial visit, you will be evaluated to see if you qualify for mesotherapy and lipodissolve. Some patients who qualify for mesotherapy prefer it for several reasons:
- No surgery or anesthesia
- Very short down time (office based, not hospital)
- Less invasive, less painful
- Usually go back to normal life routine after each session
- Cheaper
- If done well, achieve the same results for much less discomfort
In treatment terms, what is an "area"?
In general, both sides of the body are considered one area. Examples include:
- The outside of the thighs
- The inside of the thighs
- The abdomen below the navel
- The abdomen above the navel
- Love handles
- The back (bra bulge)
- Backs of the upper arms, triceps areas
- Jowls, both sides of face
- Under chin
- Eye fat pads
- Back of the thighs
What happens to me after the injection?
Before you are injected, each patient will undergo a small "test dose" to determine if the body is allergic to it. Results are tabulated after 24 hours. Allergic reactions include severe itching and swelling, whelps, severe pain, severe nausea and others. These allergic reactions are extremely rare. Usually, patients are screened before injections. The patient's allergies are documented. Some products can cross react with foods or medicines the patient is allergic to. If that is the case, the patient will usually not be a candidate.
Depending on the injection, each patient may feel any, none or all of the following:
- Itching
- Redness
- Swelling
- Bruising
- General discomfort
A rare side effect of Mesotherapy is the formation of nodules. A nodule is a small 1-2 mm hardening under the skin. These nodules are not serious, are only felt with touch, and usually disappear within weeks, at most, months.
Will the results last?
The results will last, especially if we take care of ourselves with diet and exercise. Only patients who are serious and committed will undergo mesotherapy or lipodissolve. We cannot stop the natural aging that affects your appearance. For this reason, we recommend regular maintenance visits.
At Vie Saine, we provide you with the best and optimum approach for treatment. Through our various departments, you will consult with our clinical dietitians, exercise with our certified instructors, undergo vigorous procedures involving lymphatic drainage and circulation treatments, and become an ideal candidate for the best results.
How much does it cost?
Your initial consultation is for free. We do not believe in charging you if we cannot help you. Should you qualify, then each session or area will be discussed accordingly. In general, patients who choose multiple sites end up paying less per session. We have payment plans and will work with you to accommodate you as best as we can.
